Here’s my update – I’ve been taking the Sei Mee Tea Anti-Inflammatory Adaptogen Blend for about 10 days now, and I think I’m seeing some positive benefits. I have a lot of trouble with dry-skin eczema on my hands and sometimes even my face; I’m very sensitive to chemicals and fragrance in soaps and lotions. Even though the weather has been very cold and dry in my area lately, my skin is much calmer and smoother than usual. I have no outbreaks at all on my hands! I’ve experimented a bit with how and when to use the Anti-Inflammatory Adaptogen – here are a couple of tips:
* Use a measuring spoon! After a few days of ‘eyeballing’ a half-teaspoon dose, I got out a measuring spoon and realized I’d been using only about ¼ teaspoon. Oooops! The dosage instructions advised starting with 1 gram per day (scant ½ teaspoon), and I was only using half of that.
* Try mixing with different things. The spices and turmeric of the Anti-Inflammatory Blend taste soothing and warming in a cup of warm milk and honey – it’s a treat for sure. If you don’t like dairy, coconut or soy milk would be nice too. The biggest surprise was when I added ½ tsp to my morning cup of coffee with a splash of cream! I don’t put sugar in my coffee, so it wasn’t as sweet…it was spicy and exotic, earthy and really rich. Very unexpected!
* Try taking at different times of day – I noticed some restlessness when I drank Golden Milk in the evening, but that may have been the impact of too much sugar right before bed! Taking it earlier in the day gives me a nice boost and no issues with sleep at all.
* As Kiyomi says – keep your tea in your sight. My cup, whisk, and tea containers are on the counter where I start my prep for each meal. So far, I haven’t missed a day, because they are always in my sight.
My next challenge: can I give up caffeine?? Normally, I drink one cup of coffee on the way to work, and green or herb teas the rest of the day – so my caffeine consumption isn’t too high. But in the past, when I’ve tried to give up caffeine completely, it has not gone well. (Think headaches, sluggish brain, cranky mood…yeesh!). This time, I’m curious to see if adding Centered Energy Adaptogen formula will help me get over the hump. I’m starting on Monday – wish me luck! (Or maybe I should say, ‘wish my family and colleagues luck – and patience!’)
