Make healthy date paste at home! Dates are high in fiber and polyphenols. As it offers such a satisfactory sweet taste, it works great as a natural ‘substitute’ for highly processed sugar. One drawback of dates is ‘hard’ to mix in because it is…hard! You could chop them up one by one, but there is an easy way to solve this problem. Make a simply rich “date paste”!
Here’s how to make it:
- Put dates loosely in a clean 1 quart (32 oz) size mason jar. Fill the jar with pure water. Keep the jar in the fridge for 3-4 days until the dates become soft.
2. Pour the content of the jar into food processor. Process it until it becomes a smooth paste.
3. Store the paste in a clean mason jar. We usually divide it into two pint mason jars. Keep the paste in the fridge, and use the paste as you need it.
