My Matcha Journey
The first time I ever tried matcha, I was hooked. I loved the subtle, rich flavor that it carried and its unique green color. I started begging my parents to let me get it whenever we went to a cafe, and soon it became my go-to drink. At that point, my knowledge of matcha was very surface level, and I had no idea about the physical and mental benefits that it came with. So, when I saw a flyer advertising a job at Sei Mee Tea, I was immediately interested. I knew that I wanted to learn more about matcha and all of its intricacies, and this was the perfect place to do just that.
My Time with Sei Mee Tea
I joined the Sei Mee Tea team simply expecting to learn a bit about matcha and package some orders. Little did I know, I was about to enter something much more complex. At Sei Mee Tea, matcha is just one of the vast array of products that they offer. Not only has my knowledge of matcha expanded greatly in just one week, but I have also learned more about many other types of green tea. Before starting here, I had no idea about the different processes and growing methods that are used to produce the different teas or the long list of health benefits that they offer. My exploration of the world of green tea is only just beginning, but I have already discovered more than I ever would have imagined.
My time with Sei Mee Tea has also exposed me to the world of website design, editing, and writing. As a consumer, it is very easy to forget all the details that go into running a website. It has been fascinating to see the behind-the-scenes parts and how they work. As a soon-to-be college student, gaining experience in these areas is invaluable. I am very excited to continue growing both my knowledge of tea and these important technical skills as well.
I am so glad that I have been able to do all of this, but I am even happier that it has all happened at Sei Mee Tea specifically. Sei Mee Tea makes a huge effort to almost entirely offer Organic teas that contain the greatest nutritional value possible. I was extremely impressed when I found out that Kiyomi has actually visited most of the tea manufacturers in Japan in order to make sure their standards aligned with hers. Not only do they make sure the products are impeccable, but they also make personal connections with their customers. I often hear Kiyomi fondly talking about customers like old friends, which for some they really are! I am proud to work for a small business that truly cares about its customers and their well-being.
My New Favorite Ways to Enjoy Sei Mee Tea Products
I have now had the opportunity to try out some of the products that Sei Mee Tea offers, and have been having lots of fun exploring different recipes. I still love my go-to matcha latte, but a new favorite is matcha ice cream! By simply mixing some Matcha Powder with vanilla ice cream, you can concoct a delicious sweet treat in just a few seconds. With the hot summer months approaching I know that this will become a staple in my household. I have also tried the Hojicha Powder tea, and it is the perfect after-work drink. Because of its lower caffeine levels, I am able to wind down while still indulging in a delicious cup of tea.
I can’t wait to continue sharing my experiences with all of you, and I hope that we can continue learning about and enjoying green tea together!
