Hojicha (ho-jee-cha) and Genmaicha (g-en-my-cha) are perfect introductory teas if you are not used to earthy vegetal green tea flavor.
Hojicha is roasted green tea. Roasted tea leaves make a beautiful amber color tea when they are brewed.
We also offer Hojicha powder. The powder offers a more intense roasted aroma and rich body. Make a cup of Hojicha powder tea by mixing the powder with water and the real tea is enjoyable with no brewing time.
Genmaicha is also a traditional Japanese tea; Sencha tea and toasted brown rice are blended. The toasted brown rice adds a nutty flavor, which is the reason for its popularity.
