Description
Made with Paulownia, Kiri (桐), in Japanese. Paulownia wood is light, fine-grained, and warp-resistant. It is the fastest-growing hardwood. It is used for Kimono chests, ceramic storage boxes, and clogs (geta) in Japan. The traditional brush on the right says “Chawan” in Japanese Kanji characters. On the left-hand side are the crafter’s name, Umezato, and their seal in red.
