TASTE
Depending on the length of time you steep and if it is a first or second brew, the flavors are a bit different. Toasty and sweet are just a couple ways to describe the taste of this tea, however referencing EACH STEEP below will give you more details of the different brews flavor.
AROMA
The aroma of the dry leaf is lightly toasty, like dry wheat toast, with a warm, woody, slightly-sweet notes; and with hay-like, green undertones. Alternatively, the aroma of the wet leaf is that of deep woody charcoal, warm, wet autumn leaves, cooked grains, and a sweet (lecuma) earthy, dark butterscotch finish. The aroma evokes sensations of a cozy and relaxed state of mind. Reminiscent of Autumn horse drawn hay rides and strolls through the forest, with leaves crunching underfoot; and evenings by the fire sipping coffee and tea while roasting sweet, delicious marshmallows.
COLOR
The colors of the dry leaf are slightly varying shades of dark cacao and milk chocolate. The color of the wet leaf is of deep, dark, oily, roasted coffee beans.
NUTRITIONAL BENEFIT
The aroma from fire-roasted Hojicha is relaxing and has shown to increase alpha waves in the brain. It also gives all of the benefits of the immune-boosting polyphenols, nourishing vitamins and minerals, and flavor- without any jitters. Roasting also decreases the caffeine in Hojicha Evening Green Tea, making it the perfect evening tea.

EACH STEEP
Steeped at 2 minutes, the liquor is a light, raw honey color. The aroma is light – almost fruity – like grilled apricots. The body of the tea is light, with a silky mouthfeel. The flavor is like sweet, melba toast and hints of those grilled apricots. It builds, leaving a lingering, toasty-sweet finish.
Steeped at 5 minutes, the liquor color is a darker shade of honey. The aroma is toasty, with roasted peanuts and sweet, burnt sugar notes. The flavor has notes of minerality, lightly-charred nuts, and an almost caramel-like sweetness.
Steeping it a second time gives a full-flavored, rewarding cup. The wet tea leaves emit a deeper, roasty aroma like chestnuts; and have notes similar to cold coffee. However, the aroma of the brewed tea is very light. The liquor is a deep rich amber color that provides a flavor that is rich with deep notes of toasted nuts, and a sweet honey and mineral finish.
